Flight delayed or cancelled: up to €600

Many travellers lose money because they do not know their rights. The compensation comes on top of your ticket price.

🇦🇹 The finished document is always in German – only the help is translated.

When are you entitled?

You arrived more than 3 hours late, your flight was cancelled less than 14 days before departure, or you were denied boarding because of overbooking. This applies to flights departing from the EU and to flights into the EU with a European airline.

How much?

Per person, including children with their own seat.

When is there nothing?

In extraordinary circumstances such as storms, security risks or air traffic control strikes. Technical defects usually do not count.

How to claim

  1. Keep your boarding pass and booking confirmation.
  2. Write to the airline: flight number, date, booking code, all passengers, your IBAN and a deadline.
  3. If the airline does not pay, the Austrian agency for passenger rights (apf.gv.at) helps free of charge.
